Hey guys! We're back again with the second and final blog post about the HGTV Smart Home. Not only did we do the grand light fixture in the great room but we also created the sconces in the Master Bedroom.
When HGTV Smart Home Designer Tiffany Brooks came to the store to look around, she had an idea of what she wanted. She wanted something unique that had a gothic feel. They needed to stand out against the dark wood wall they would hang on. We have several styles of sconces in stock that we can easily replicate. After looking around, she liked the look of this one.
We acquired this sconce in France and added the wax medallion to it for extra detail. The waxed medallion came from either an old barrel or a sealed box.
Tiffany then talked about adding glass globes to the sconce. We drew it up to see what it would look like.
Turns out it looks pretty good! We then replicated the sample and created two sconces.
Next came paint color. We had a lot of colors to choose from.
Antique pewter was her choice. This color completed the dark wood wall so well! The sconces popped on the wall and really drew your eye to them. The sconces tied the whole space together and gave it that gothic feel. Love how they look in the home!
